About
Prof. Anisur Rahman is a distinguished academic and administrator, currently Professor at Centre for West Asian Studies and Former Director of UGC-Human Resource Development Centre at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He holds a PhD and M.Phil from JNU and dual Master's degrees in Economics (AMU) and Sociology (JNU). Before joining JMI in 1999, he worked at the Institute of Applied Manpower Research, Planning Commission, Government of India. An internationally acclaimed scholar specializing in Migration & Diaspora and Higher Education, he has authored 12 books, published 70+ research papers in reputed journals, and delivered 200+ invited lectures at institutions worldwide. He has visited the USA, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and UAE for research and conferences. He was the LeAP Coordinator for a flagship MHRD programme at University of Virginia, USA. As President, he will leverage his institution-building experience to establish robust governance frameworks, coordinate effectively with civic authorities, and foster a harmonious, inclusive community.
